Hypopressive/Low Pressure Fitness

Hypopressives are a type of exercise that stem from a yogic breath lock called uddiyanha bandha. In Spain, hypopressives are commonly incorporated in the treatment of postpartum mothers. They are so helpful that they even have group classes so that people can maintain the benefits of their personalized training.
Research shows that hypopressives can be helpful for:
-
Urinary incontinence
-
Diastasis Recti
-
Pelvic Organ Prolapse
-
Constipation
-
Strengthening the pelvic floor
-
Improved posture
-
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Connor were trained directly by Tamara Rial, PhD, CSPS, a pioneer researcher in the field of hypopressives. They have seen firsthand how hypopressive exercises can be a powerful tool in managing pelvic floor and postural issues.
The Wim Hof Method

The Wim Hof Method (WHM) is a beautiful technique that allows us to tap into our innate resilience. It has three pillars: Deep Breathing, Cold Exposure, and Mindset.
The Wim Hof Method has been shown to help:
-
Create positive change for auto-immune diseases
-
Reduce Depression and Anxiety symptoms
-
Increase pain tolerance

Dry Needling

What is dry needling and how is it different than acupuncture?

Acupuncture is based off of ancient Chinese medicine where very small needles are used along meridian lines to help balance energy.

Generally, dry needling uses acupuncture-sized needles directly on trigger points or places of muscle tension to help relieve tightness and ease pain. Our practitioners are trained in a specific needling technique which focuses on areas of neurogenic inflammation. Because this method uses a peripheral nerve mapping model, needles can be placed in areas which are not tight or painful but will still have a local and systemic effect on the body. It is a comprehensive approach leading to faster and more long lasting results.

All of our therapists have advanced training in dry needling through Herman and Wallace (the premier pelvic education institute) to specifically help those people with pelvic floor dysfunction.

COMING SOON - VAGUS NERVE TREATMENT

The vagus nerve is a key part of the autonomic nervous system, extending from the brainstem through the neck to the chest and abdomen. It regulates essential functions such as heart rate, digestion, and respiratory rate by controlling parasympathetic responses. Issues with the vagus nerve can lead to various health problems affecting these functions, including the pelvic floor.
